About Us

At Little Deers Nursery we strive to create a nurturing environment in partnership with parents; which is safe, secure, happy, healthy and stimulating, where each child will have the opportunity to develop fully. Our nursery is unique and retains its individuality, whilst having the support of a team of proffesionals within our centre which offers families the personal touch.

At our nursery we aim to:

  • Create a stimulating, caring and safe environment where each child's individual needs are met and where they can develop creativity, individuality and self confidence in secure surroundings.

  • To treat each child as an individual and recognise and celebrate individuality and diversity which helps promote a rich learning environment.

  • Promote the development of positive self image within all children and families.

  • Work in partnership with parents and carers in an open honest way.

  • Support parents and carers in the developmental needs of their children, both in the setting and at home.

Provision and Bookings

Here at Little Deers Nursery our Snack / Meal times are roughly as follows:

7-8.30 - Staff will offer breakfast.

9.30- Morning Snack

11.45 - Two course hot lunch

1.30 - Afternoon Snack

3.30 - Light Tea

These times may change slightly as staff are responsive to childrens needs and daily plans may affect the timings of some snacks.

All hot food for the children is prepared and delivered from the kitchen in the adjoining care home. Within the nursery we are have a food and nutrition policy that places a high emphasis on healthy eating and we follow recent government guidance (Setting The Table).

We understand that in modern living, shift work or work commitments can leave a parent struggling to find childcare that meets their needs and, as such, we try to be as flexible as possible within our nursery. There are no set days here or minimum bookings, with the exception of our After-School Room (where children must be booked in for a minimum of one hour before school or two hours after school). We operate on a booking sheet system. Booking sheets are made available to you by e-mail and within the nursery on the first of each month. We ask that parents/carers complete their child's booking sheet, with the dates and times they will be attending nursery the following  month, and return it to the office, by e-mail or in person, on or before the 15th of the month. This allows management two weeks to compile registers and allocate staffing appropriately. We also ask that any amendments to bookings be done with at least one weeks notice.
