Our Staff Team

Our manager Doreen came to post in September 2013 and her background is in the health sector. She is a qualified paediatric nurse, who once worked as a Health Promotions Nurse within our nursery. So she has a wealth of knowledge and experience in young children's growth and development. She has now turned her focus to education and since coming to post here has achieved a Level 9 PDA in Childhood Practice.

Doreen is very motivated and pasionate about this nursery, and works to ensure best practice is delivered at all times and that the nursery is on a constant journey of improvement.

Sharon is a qualified early years practitioner with over 20 years of childcare experience. In those years she has gained a wealth of experience and achieved both her NNEB and HNC qualifications. She has been part of the team at Little Deers Nursery since 2009 and has taken on the roles of Nursery Practitioner then Team Leader before coming to post as Deputy Manager in February 2017.

Sharon is passionate about the quality of care and learning we provide in our nursery. Her remit focuses on making improvements through reflective practice, whilst supporting Doreen in the day-to-day managing of the service.

Each room in our nursery is staffed with a Team Leader and Early Years Practitioners who are all qualified to an SQCF level 7, so have achieved a HNC or SVQ3 through a relevant childcare / education course.

We currently have an Early Years Practitioner working on a one-to-one support basis. She holds a level 8 qualification (HND) in Additional Support Needs.

Each room also has a Trainee Practitioner who is currently working towards their SVQ3 in Children's care Learning and development.

Our staff are always continuing their professional development through up to date training courses both externally and in house. To ensure that each child receives the highest standard of care and learning experience.
